36. Watch every episode of Stargate: SG-1, in order (at least, the MacGyver episodes),
37. Update my address book with current phone/address. Backup on computer.

sgFirst of all, yes, I realize the image is from the movie, not the show. I spent roughly three minutes looking for a good picture of the gate (just the gate), and gave up. Plus, I still really like the movie. And it's a cool poster. But I digress.

For the record? SG-1 = really good show. Surprising, the continuity stretching through the first eight seasons (the "MacGyver" episodes, as it were -- while Richard Dean Anderson shows up in a few episodes here and there, throughout seasons 9 and 10, from what I've seen so far it seems like little more than a ploy to put him in the promo commercials). Also, very few shows seem to be able to mix strong dramatic tension with self-effacing humor. There're certainly a few episodic misfires here and there, but I dare you to name a show that's gone for over 170 episodes without an occasional sucky one.

Also, the address book thingy. I collected most of that info a couple months ago, and never got around to backing it up on my computer. This has now been resolved. Kind of a tough one to muster up enthusiasm about, y'know?

Others, in progress:

17. Make it through my Netflix queue - 2/3 down. Turns out, not so much "The Summer o' Netflix" as it was "The Summer o' Stargate." Fair enough. "The Fall o' Netflix?"

18. Buy (or receive) a $100 bottle of scotch - *ahem*

19. Buy an original piece of art - *checks mailbox* nope, still waiting. Grr.

25. Watch the Perseids out in the country - Next year, concrete plans. I'm thinking maybe hit this, #7 (Hike to waterfall), #97 (Go camping), and #58 (Spelunking) all in one. The spelunking part may be tough, though; don't really think there's much as far as caves go, up here. Ooh, but how cool would it be to hike to an underground waterfall? Intriguing.

44. Make a list of 101 things that make me happy - Started this, haven't gotten far. I can't really decide how specific to be, but if I go too vague, I'll only have like three things listed (movies, sleeping, food, for instance). Plus, how screwed up is it that I feel vaguely selfish and guilty when I focus my attention on this topic? Answer: pretty screwed up.

70. Fly first class - Given that I'm contemplating, at some point, a trip to Japan, out of curiosity I checked what airfare would be. And I thought, well, if it's going to be a long flight, it would be pretty sweet to fly first class (more room, free booze, etc). With fees and all, coach seemed to be hovering around $900-1000 on most of the major airline websites (Delta, Northwest, and so on). So I figured First Class would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $2000 (maybe $2500). Pricy, sure, but why not save up and indulge? Reality check: First class to Tokyo? About $7K. Hoo.

71. Inventory my collectibles/toys - This is a bit more daunting than I was originally thinking, because I have a couple boxes of loose junk I really don't want to deal with. But given my rate of selling off Heroclix and Star Wars Mini's, I suspect when I do ultimately complete an inventory, I will have already achieved #72 (Sell half of that inventory - and yes, I'm counting those already sold, retroactively).

74. Go to an NHL game - Tickets acquired. For six months from now. Ugh, it's a good thing I'm patient.

I could comment on more, but now I'm bored and want to go watch TV and drink caffeinated beverages.

78. Get a new watch I like

Luff. The only real problem with my new watch is it actually is much dressier in real life than it looks in the picture. Makes me think I should look into getting another watch, as an every-day type watch. But for some reason, I'm almost obsessively picky when it comes to this sort of thing (my old watch died like a year and a half ago, and it took me this long to find a new one I like... Hence the challenge of putting it on a list like this).

With luck, a few more crossed off in the next week or so.
